The Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) is planning to file a complaint with the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) over the way private television stations TVOne and ANTV have covered news related to the association.
PSSI deputy secretary general for competition Saleh Mukadar said on Tuesday that the two stations, partly owned by the politically-wired Bakrie family, had repeatedly aired misleading information about the institution despite its open willingness to share information with them.^(*)
“We are still collecting supporting materials for our complaint report. We are now feeling useless to share more information with these two stations,” Saleh said as quoted by tribunnews.com.^(**)
Saleh also said that the organization had rejected an invitation from TVOne to appear on its live Indonesian Lawyers Club talk show program on Tuesday night, saying that it no longer trusted the station.
“We have seen many times how they wrongly frame their news about us,” he said. (hwa)
